Word Forward is the word puzzle game where every choice matters.

Can you use all of the letters in the 5×5 grid to make words disappear and clear the board? Word Forward isn’t about spelling the longest words or the most clever – it’s about carefully using every tile to declare victory in 500 puzzles. It requires cunning and strategy — Word Forward is a brain teaser that will really make you think!

• SPELL words by tracing a line between tiles in any direction, including diagonally
• SWAP any two letters on the grid by using a SWAP TOKEN, earned during gameplay
• JUMBLE the tiles on the grid to replace all the letters with new ones when all else fails
• CHANGE the letter on a tile to any other letter you choose using the SWAP MODIFIER
• ELIMINATE stubborn tiles with BOMBS to get yourself out of a tight spot

The latest brain-tingling puzzle game from the creators of Block Droppin Blitz.

One thing I enjoy about reviewing is the many different titles and genres you come across, some of which you may not have picked up. Mobile gaming I tend to find works best for retro ports and puzzle games one game that fits that would be Word Forward the latest title from Rocket Ship Park.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you would have seen plastered over social media people’s Wordle post or the many different forms of the game I’m seeing, well following that trend of word games is Word Forward a bit like a word search type of game getting you to find words hidden in a grid in whichever direction. Once you find a word those tiles are removed the main aim is to get the most words out of the letters available so it’s not really about the biggest word it’s about using what’s available.

The game itself is pretty big with 500 puzzles to work through also you have different power ups to help you such as jumble up the letters, blow up a letter or swap a letter all helping you along the way.

Personally I just couldn’t get into it and felt the gane was unnecessarily difficult, normally the difficulty increases as you move along allowing you to get used to the game and how the mechanics work well Word Forward doesn’t let you do this instead throws you pretty much into the deep end, maybe it is just me but a few times I found myself resetting the board to try again with frustration building fast I just couldn’t get into the game.

Maybe you need to be a complete brain box to play the game or have patience of a Saint to play the game which in all fairness I have neither, it possibly would be ideal for people that love doing the puzzles out the paper and things like that but not for me.

Graphics and Sound

It’s hard really to judge the game on the graphics as it isn’t that type of game however looks wise it looks good and fresh and pretty easy to navigate.

The soundtrack is quite minimal with limited in game sounds but like the graphics it’s hard to judge the game on this as that isn’t what the game is about.

To summarise my thoughts on Word Forward, I was disappointed with the game as a whole and found it overly complicated so in turn found it difficult to get into so can’t really see me going back to it any time soon.

Verdict-Out of 5🌟

I give Word Forward a poor rating of 1 🌟 thought the game was overly complicated more than it needed to be, if they make it simpler to start with then maybe my opinion would change.

I rarely get to take a look at mobile games but as the site says I like to cover all platforms as I am a believer that gaming is gaming no matter what the platform is. Being a big American sports fan or follower from the UK I enjoy playing games within this sporting genre.

If you have played any deck building game then you’ll probably be at home here, think of the gameplay similar to Fifa Ulitmate Team or MyTeam if you’ve played NBA 2k22. You pick cards and collect a team good enough to compete at the top against the better opponents.

Yes the game is a free-to-play or freemium title which means that you are “encouraged” to buy in game items such as gems and coins or chests, but as with most mobile games this is pretty much the norm and it is a choice you can still enjoy the game with out spending much or any real life money.

The game is good to play alone on the commute or killing a bit of time on the dinner break, you can also take part in special events when you have to play out scenarios such as you are down in the 4th quarter and you must come back to win, I personally found this mode alot of fun to play and you can unlock some pretty good rewards. You also have the option to challenge live players in real time multiplayer mode which again is alot of fun, this would maybe be better played over WiFi connection unless you have a decent 4G + connection and good data allowance.

Overall if you are an NFL fan then this does have alot to offer, with it also being free you may aswell give it a go.

Graphics and Sound

The graphics aren’t the next gen quality you’re probably used to now playing your new super consoles but they are certainly good enough to have a good game on mobile. The game is licensed so you do get the authentic feel with team names and players, yes you can have Josh Allen (aka god) throwing rockets down the pitch.

The soundtrack is OK again it’s a mobile game so you can’t expect big productions. In game the sound effects are good enough to enjoy the game, you have to take into account you’re not playing Madden here so bare that in mind before making comparisons.

To summarise my thoughts on Nfl Clash an overall decent free-to-play game to play on the go, probably not a game I’d put my controller down for but still a game that’s good to have to hand when your put and about or even in the bath (if you drown your phone don’t blame me).

Verdict-Out of 5🌟

I give Nfl Clash a good 4🌟 score, a good NFL experience to have on the go, yes you get a better experience if you put money into it (the nature of free-to-play) but you can still enjoy without doing so.

Grab your copy of Nfl Clash on Android or Apple now through your relevant app store.

Northgard is a strategy game based on Norse mythology in which you control a clan of Vikings vying for the control of a mysterious newfound continent.

After years of tireless explorations, brave Vikings have discovered a new land filled with mystery, danger and riches: Northgard. The boldest Northmen have set sail to explore and conquer these new shores, bring fame to their Clan and write history through conquest, trading, or devotion to the Gods.

That is, if they can survive the dire Wolves and Undead Warriors roaming the land, befriend or defeat the giants, and survive the harshest winters ever witnessed in the North…

Northgard is a mobile port of the popular PC game of the same name, now you can take your Norse conquests on the go through your mobile.

The game itself is a standard strategy style game with you needing to build certain buildings to enable you to expand your army and your revenue stream buy crafting buildings for training and resources.

The gameplay itself is quite laid back and is well suited for gaming on the move, the controls for a strategy game are actually quite easy to pick up, I found it relatively easy to get going using the on screen hints and prompts.

Once you get your camp going it’s easy enough to grow your camp and you find that you take over a bigger area quite quickly, the trick is to get a decent army together as quick as you can, it definitely does pay off.

The game itself is smooth to play even with the touch screen controls that sometimes can feel clunky, but the devs have got it right it definitely feels good to play using the phone which is what you want from a mobile game especially when it’s a port of a PC or console game.

It’s great to play through the story using Norse mythology it feels such an immersive game, I feel like there will be some missed stops or late lunch breaks with this on the go.

Graphics and Sound

To be fair for a mobile game I was very impressed with how the game looks, with an over the shoulder top down view which is more or less standard for a strategy game. The overall graphics are very smooth and play out pretty slick.

The soundtrack is good with an authentic feel throughout with the in game sound effects work well with the overall feeling of the game.

To summarise my thoughts on Northgard, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the game and pretty much fell into it straight away, it does get very addictive.

Verdict-Out of 5🌟

I give Northgard a solid 4🌟 I was pleasantly surprised with the overall feel of the game, try it out you really won’t be disappointed.

Warhammer 40k Mechanicus Review

“Take control of the most technologically advanced army in the Imperium – The Adeptus Mechanicus – in this critically acclaimed turn-based tactical game. Your every decision will shape the missions ahead and ultimately decide the fate of the troops under your command in over 50 hand-crafted missions, including the amazing Heretek DLC missions. Choose your path carefully – the Imperium depends on it”.

Read on for my review to see my honest opinions of the game.

Being a big fan of the Warhammer 40k world I was quite interested to take a look at Mechanicus and see what direction this will take the story with choices you make determine how the game plays out, sounding all very interesting so far.

If you’ve ever played an RTS game on mobile/tablet before then you’ll be familiar with the control mechanics, touch screen to move simple but effective, as with any RTS game this is all about the planning and strategy as just running into a battle will get you killed quickly.

The game puts you in control of Adeptus Mechanicus forces leading tech preists through the Necron Tomb World, with the player having to bare in mind that the actions you take will determine the gameplay. You use various upgrades throughout the game to level up your squad into more effective fighters, this can be done in the post level hub. I like how the story plays out in a sort of sci-fi action movie style. Utilising a different view for when you planning your move is a great touch, goes into a more futuristic neon view, a great touch I thought.

I found the overall movement of the characters fluid and easy to put in place, the combat system can be tricky but one you get the hang of it very effective.

The gameplay isn’t easy but it’s not overly difficult I would say it’s more of a challenge which for me is good as it keeps your attention and focus. For any fan of Warhammer titles you will enjoy this, it’s like having a table top in your pocket. With over 50 missions to work through it certainly isn’t a quick game, one that will definitely keep you entertained for a good while.

Graphics and Sound

For a mobile game I found the graphics extremely good, slightly grainy in places but overall good. I especially liked the mix of futuristic and gothic style with its deep dark cavens and futuristic game planning. The cut scenes are also great to watch.

The soundtrack was really good with it’s deep and dramatic music fitting with the game, also the sound effects were great throughout.

To summarise my thoughts of Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus, a great mobile game that I had a lot of fun playing, good for a quick game but better to spend a bit of time on it. Would definitely recommend looking it up especially if you are a table top fan.

Verdict – Out of 5🌟

I give Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus a Good score of 4🌟 definitely a title to recommend, works well as a mobile port look forward to playing a few more hours.

Bloodstained : Ritual of The Night Review

Developed By: Netease Games

Platforms Available On: Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS and Android

Reviewed on Android – a code was very kindly supplied for the purpose of this review

Bloodstained:Ritual of The Night has been ported in full from the consoles to mobile in all its 2D side scrolling glory.

Here is some of the game background:

“Play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist’s curse that slowly crystallizes her body. Battle through a demon-infested castle and defeat its master to save yourself, and all of humanity!

·Challenge over 120 Minions and Bosses and take their abilities.
·Customize your combat style with 107 weapons, 23 skills, and numerous combos.
·Sprawling and complex 2D side-scrolling map. Explore and unlock routes and barriers to discover surprises.
·Numerous fashion items for a variety of appearances and buffs.”

I’m personally a big fan of the 2D side scrolling action games and Bloodstained really ticked the boxes for me.

First off I was pleasantly surprised at the graphic quality as it is a mobile game and I never really have high expectations when it comes to graphics but Bloodstained definitely hits the mark with its dark gothic style in the similar style of games such as Castlevania, mixed with manga style cutscenes to tell an in-depth story, mixing seamlessly between the two. I did see some slight glitches on screen but nothing too bad so didn’t spoil the experience.

I found Miriam a pretty badass protagonist and awesome heroine she was definitely there to “chew bubble gum and kick ass” and most definitely she was out of gum, giving the octopus looking monsters a brutal kick to the chops was definitely satisfying. Going through the levels the quality of combat increases with the use of a vast array of combos and different skills also utilising the badass weapons on offer.

I did find the controls slightly clunky with them being on the phone screen rather than a controller but I think that is more down to the fact that I am used to using the controller rather than anything else, having the buttons on screen does sometimes get in the way but that is unfortunately the same for most mobile games using this format.

Overall I enjoyed Bloodstained and found it was good introduction to the series having not played it previously, I have seen numerous videos but never actually played it for myself, now I have played on mobile I will look to get the game on console too. For those who are fans of the gothic genre it’s definitely a game worth going for and will fill up any hours spent commuting.

Graphics and Sounds

As I said earlier on in the review I was impressed at the graphics of Bloodstained, I have played ports of games on mobile previously with some basically unplayable but this was not the case for Bloodstained, yes there was some slight glitches and combat was stiff at times it certainly didn’t effect the overall experience. The dark and gloomy levels definitely give the overall gothic feel and adds to the experience.

The sounds of the game are also very good with the overall soundtrack adding more depth to the game. The voice acting is brilliant and adds more to the story telling with the cutscenes being in style of manga with the lips moving in time with the words that are said.

To summarise my thoughts on Bloodstained : Ritual of The Night, I enjoyed the game overall there was some slight issues and the controls were slightly clunky, but did find the game fun to play and would recommend picking it up at the cost it is it’s not going to break the bank.

I give Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night 3⭐️ – a good overall game with good story telling.
